The best quality in a human being is whatever it takes to contribute good things to the earth and the human race. The more that someone does for the earth and the human race, the more valuable that person is.
So this must be the most important quality in a person. Who is the smartest or who can run the fastest can influence a person's ability to accomplish this goal, but how could such things be considered the best quaility in a human. Someone could be the smartest person on earth only to use his intelligence for evil, so intelligence could not be considered the best or most important quality in a person.

Magnanimity of Soul... Aristotle would say.
Justice... Socrates would say
What does justice mean?
It means that each person should do what they are supposed to do.
There are virtues (or qualities) that best suit a person DEPENDING on his or her activity or way of life.
Temperance, is the virtue that common people should strive for.
Courage, is the virtue a warrior should master...
Wisdom, is the virtue a thinker, a philosopher, should perfect.

constancy... honesty... loyalty... all matter.
I'll rate constancy, because I have a reason... a friend of 51 years, from the time we were both age ten, for whom I always will, and always have, dropped everything, in her hours of need... is fickle with her friendship in return.
She returns only when she falls out with someone else... which usually lasts a couple of weeks, two or three times a year,,, and then, when she makes up with them again, she disappears for months on end. She completely disappears on me though, when my own life goes pear shaped, always when I really needed to share with her.
But, I care too much to end it... and we're both too old...
so... 'constancy' would be my choice... it beats fickle any day...

The best quality someone can have is integrity. You need to believe in yourself, and all that you belive in, or else what do u have?

Empathy--when you can relate or understand waht someone is doing or going through, you may very well change your atititude about things. The old addage of---You will never know what someone is going through until you walk a mile in his shoes.
