After seeing the first 8 answers, I'm sorry for the confusing question...

Democratic politicians always campaign and argue that Blacks are more economically vulnerable. But, illegal immigration has depressed wages and Blacks are unable to get higher wages.

Democratic politicians know that they get 90% of the Black vote so they take it for granted but then those same politicians turn around and demagogue new issues with illegal aliens.

Demand for housing has raised rents for Black people while competition for jobs has deprived Blacks of opportunities.

Black people are being sold out by politicians from BOTH political parties (I'm not Black).

Not knowing their true intentions, I cannot say for absolute sure for *all* of them. But it sure seems like they are. Anyone with eyes to see and half a brain to think can realize just how much blacks are being hurt by the millions of criminale (a criminal is someone who breaks a law! no room for argument!)

Think: will an employer be more likely to hire an illegal desperate to work at any price and be paid under the table AND who will never dare complain AND work for as many hours as required until he/she drops from exhaustion...or an honest black who likes a fair day's pay, respect, and a safe workplace?

Only a politican would be stupid/greedy/apathetic enough to ignore the burden illegals place on blacks every single day. With Washington's track record as it is already, I say if the shoe fits, wear it.

If you are implying that illegal take the jobs that should go to blacks, all I can say, I think you're wrong on both scores. Illegals take the jobs that no one else will do.Sometimes. Many are Skilled and cannot find Any work. Blacks are moving more and more into the middle class. A sizeable amount are already there! You might want to rethink your question and then re ask it. There is a point to be made in suggesting Democrats take blacks for granted. Conversely, where will any members of the working class-black, white, Asian, Latin etc. go for support if not the Democrats? Certainly not the Republicans. We are very race conscious in America but the new struggle is not, or should not be, race based. It is class based. The middle and working classes, perhaps now, one and the same, are shrinking under the weight of high tech, high finance, and laissez-faire capitalism. We who work for a living, retirees, people on SSI or General Assistance, all of us, need to band together to save our neighborhoods , our kids, our ways of life. We try hard, work hard, now show us some respect!!!!!

I'm with zenhighway and jingles 200... I don't get the point of your question. I doubt democratic politicians ever take blacks for granted.... for any reason. They depend on them for votes. I didn't know that there were that many blacks who give a **** about illegal immigration. I thought that was primarily a GOP issue. Dems seem to think that more immigrants (legal or otherwise) will bring more votes. Since the overwhelming majority of blacks are dems, I assume they don't care just like the rest of their party. Are you afraid that blacks who do care about illegal immigration are going to jump ship and join up with the GOP? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not enough to get them to see the light.

'nuff said?

According to an analysis of data from the 2000 Census by the American Immigration Law Foundation, employment in about one-third of all U.S. job categories would have contracted anyway during the 1990s without recently arrived, noncitizen immigrant workers--even if all unemployed U.S.-born workers with recent job experience in those categories had been reemployed.

According to a November report in USA Today, job and wage growth in 10 U.S. inner cities with high immigrant populations outpaced job and wage growth in their broader metropolitan statistical areas.

It’s true that immigrants--in particular, undocumented immigrants--tend to earn considerably less than working U.S. citizens. However, according to a 2004 study by the Urban Policy Institute, undocumented workers make up less than 10 percent of the 43 million low-wage workers in the United States.

The idea that 4 million undocumented workers are somehow responsible for keeping down the wages of the other 39 million low-wage workers is nonsensical--and only pits groups of workers against each other.

This claim also ignores the fact that immigrants, both documented and undocumented, are helping take the lead in one of the most important things that can actually raise wages for all low-wage workers--building a stronger union movement.

No. African Americans and Illegal immigrants are two different issues.

African Americans should not feel like they're being taken for granted. In fact, Democratic politicians have done a lot to support African American issues.

By not demanding a stop to illegal immigration, Democrats are just demonstrating their support for another, different, and growing American population.

Like I said...two different issues.
