No matter what walk of life you come from there will always be someone that doesn't like you for "x" reason. Its human nature to see differences and point them out, we cant help it. For most, if making another feel bad makes them feel better then trust that they will do it. I've noticed in my life that people tend to bond together over love, hate, like, dislike of something else.
I am very sorry to say that most people will not stop being prejudiced against anyone unless it touches them personally. Its the edict of "if it isnt hurting me what do I care?" Now, if a homophobic parent has a homosexual child then all of the sudden they will find a bit more compassion or they will shun the child. I would hope that acceptance could at least be found with your parents but is not always going to happen. You cant control what others do and can only control you. Your best bet would be to be who you are and love yourself for who you are even if you feel no one else does.
ps. Please dont find this offensive, it is never my intention.
Good Luck in your endeavors.

That Matt person above me does not make any sense. He is comparing genetics to liking slime. What a hoot! It proves my point that I've said a number of times. If science was to finally say gay people are born that way and it isn't something learned or made up in their mind, people would still find a reason to discriminate. Don't worry, the LGBT has made leaps and bounds over the years. It won't be much longer before we're accepted accross all platforms of people. Anyway, I wonder if he woke up one day and chose to love women, since I get the picture that he thinks we woke up one day and chose to love the same sex?

Get rid of our facist wanna be president....then get rid of all right wingers who want to ostrascize and humiliate those of color and homosexuality and put them all on a deserted island full of shark infested waters. Then teach children at an early age, that some people just love the same sex....That's a start

Trying to educate ignorant people and being "out" so everyone know that you are here and proud of it. Also follow the Golden Rule, treat others how you want to be treated. And take action! Do things to help the GLBTQ community and fight for your right to love whoever you love!

Ignore some ignorant people. They don't talk for God. God is love.

The homosexuals need to keep their sexual preference in the bed room and quit trying to push their agenda down the throats of others. Clean up their disease and prove their worth. Flaunting their promiscuity and lust on the streets does them little Good.

The public has to be more educated about this issue!! The more people that are educated, the more likely they will be open-minded!! It is not going to be easy in today's society, especially with Bush in the White House!!------ K.E.
