Yes, you can..
and, yes, it's safe to do so, and thereby free up a lot of memory, ie, hard drive space

I wouldn't recommand deleting your cookies often unless you know your browser is infected, of you need to reset the setting.

Websites use cookies to keep the configuration for you. For example, if you log in into Yahoo, and do not log out, all the Yahoo affiliated sites will recognize you, until you log out.

There is no harm in deleting cookies, though. Sometimes you have to do it because some websites exploit it and screw up your browser. But, since it is like your configuration for many websites, I don't delete it often.

So, it is ok to delete cookies. But, for many websites that you are "always logged in", you will have to log in again. If you don't mind the hassle, delete the cookies as often as you want, then.

Yes Deleting cookies is a very good thing to do and do regularly. It does free up a lot of hard drive space, and keeps your computer running beautifully.

Files from either of these directories are not large nor do they take up lots of space on your disc drive. However, you will not damage your system by deleting them. The only thing that will have is that certain web sites that you have visited and set preferences for will be lost. Other than that it is no big deal.

You can delete cookies, but it only frees hard drive space, it does not free up any memory. You can also clear you cookies in your browser, I hope you don't use I.E. it is bad!

I delete cookies all the time. It hasn't shut me down. So I believe it's alright. That just means it won't remember passwords and stuff.
