It's been exactly three weeks, today, since I started using proactiv. The first week my skin got worse, the second week my pimples were disappearing, and now all of a sudden I have 8 big pimples today! I really thought that this product was working, and now I'm worried that it won't. Should I just be patient and wait another week or two? Any similar experiences / suggestions?

I use it religiously, day and night.

I have been to a dermatologist many times for the past 5 years, tried everything... pills, creams, birth control... everything except accutane.

yeah I've been using that crap for a while they go away then they come back for me to u gota use it two times a day non stop. but it hasnt cured me from the pimples. they do give u a 60 day money back gurantee but i say keep using it. alot of the stuff on the infomericals is bs it mostly works on the moderate type of acne if ur face is all ****** up with acne it wont take it all away.
acutane will work but it will screw u up pretty bad i knew a friend on it he had depression he was bleeding iternally he had lots of headaches. he stoped using it cause so many side afects.

I used Proactiv for a while and it DIDN'T work! It cleared it up a little but your skin gets "hooked" on it and once you stop all your acne problems will come right back. If you have chronic acne and a family history, you should definitely see a dermatologist. You don't have to live with bad skin....there are medical treatments that work and most are covered by insurance! good luck

ProActiv tends to be too rough on skin. You may benefit from a less harsh routine such as the one one acne.org. Although the active ingredients in ProActiv are good, the delivery method often fails to prevent acne as the product claims.

It made my skin worse also. It worked for a friend of mine, but not until after she had used her entire 30 day supply, then she had to buy more. It might not be the product for you. I had to give up on all the do it yourself stuff and pay the dermatologist.

that stuff does not work you should use clean and clear products now thats worth it. I always wanted to try proactiv but as you can see its nothing but advertisement. I wanted to try it even more since I had seen p.diddy, alicia keys, and jesscia simpson on there but I found out they only get paid for doing that (I shouldve known). But you should try clean and clear or noxema they work great. I use blackhead clearing scrub and then I apply dual action mousturizer and my skin is so smooth and clear. You can also use the daily cleaner too. Good Luck

I've wondered about this stuff for a long time. I keep thinking that if this product is all that it claims to be, than why isn't it sold in stores? From My own personal experience, anything and everything that I have ever purchased from an infomercial has been a load of crap.

well i also used proactive and it worked at first because i was really into it and used it regurlarly but then i got lazy and stoped using it everyday just make sure u use it like your supposed to if not just make sure u wash ur face everyday and try changing ur pillow case often because while u sleep you leave oils on the pillow and then u use it the next night, that really helped me good luck i hope it all works out

They say it gets worse before it gets better but by next week if its not better then you might be wasting your time. You might want to consider accutane if your pimples are a big problem, but it has side effects.

Go to a dermatologist- there are prescription meds you can take for acne. I did the "wait and see" thing when I was younger and my skin just got worse.

You might wanna check out the following:
-Diet...I always get zits if I eat things that I react to, it took a while to figure it out, but wheat makes me break out the most believe it or not, i had to keep a journal of things i ate and when i broke out. Now that i dont eat wheat (bread, pasta and stuff like that) i dont break out anymore
-Liver...you might wanna look at doing a liver cleanse, cuz if your liver is backed up, the toxins gotta come out somewhere so they come out your skin
-water intake...more water=clearer skin
-dont put stuff on your face at night...it actually goes against your natural rhythms of your face.
-i refuse to use proactiv cuz its got a ton of chemicals in it. i wont put anything on my face that i dont know what it is. try www.drhauschka.com that is the best ive found by far
-try taking ACIDOPHILUS or probiotics (you can get those at the health food store) They help SO MUCH!
Good luck, and love your skin!
