A truck carrying medical supplies was hit and its driver killed on the Beirut-Damascus highway. Hizbullah says one of its fighters was killed.

Some of these other answerers are nuts. Like Ethan. WTF? Lebanon is one of the most Americanized nations in the Middle East. Beirut was called the Paris of the Middle East. They are FAR from a terrorist nation.
It's a PR disaster waiting to happen. Most democrats will object to any sort of military intervention. At the same time, this is a PR disaster because Israel is supposedly a country we support. Therefore we can't really take Lebanon's side on the issue - even though that's the right thing to do - because that's hypocritical of what the US theoretically supports.

Bush (whom I almost dispise politically) and Mr. Blair have not blocked efforts to halt the fighting in Lebanon. Their policy is to encourage the Israelis, Syrians and Lebanese to put a halt to the terrorist attacks by Hezbollah and Hamas. Israel had just finally had enough of the rocket attacks by the fanatics operating out of Lebanon with the approval and support of the Syrians. A better question would be "why haven't the arab governments in the area put a stop to the acts of aggression perpetrated by cowards who kill innocent Israelis? Just leave Israel alone. That's all that has to be done to end hostilities. Israel is not going away, You are not going to drive the Chosen into the sea. Why? Because God won't let you. You should have learned that after five wars over the past fifty-eight years!

You should change your name to Che or Fidel. Aren't those Syrian and Iranian made rockets being intentionally launched from civilian neighborhoods so these Islama-Nuts and people like you can site civilian deaths and blame Israel??? If Hezbollah and Hammas care about their Arab 'brothers", maybe they should reconsider their murderous tactics and they won't get a military response. How does a group of thugs get anti-ship missiles and rockets anyway? Why does Lebanon continue to let Hezbollah act freely in it's territory? Why does the Palestinian Authority let Hammas launch mortars into Israeli towns? The tragedy befalling innocent Lebanese is entirely the responsibility of Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, and the Lebanese government.
