I want a town that's EITHER near the ocean or in a rural area where he can have farmland. I am looking for a place that is CHEAP and close (within 10 miles) of hospitals. They do not need to make a living there but it would be great it expenses could be kept low. Any ideas?

Contact a realtor in the area and let them know what you're looking for. It's often free to use realtors when you're buying, as most often the seller pays the realtor fees, not the buyer.

FIrst, go to

and start researching areas and prices. When you find something that looks acceptable, contact the listing realtor...and yes, it doesn't cost you anything. I just found a house and realtor online and settled on it a month ago, so it really works.
