Yes, he's been acting very desperate lately. When it comes to racing, he's lost his touch. And hopefully he'll miss the chase this year, too. But hopefully Junior makes it! :)

After looking at all of the answers that have been posted I believe that some people need to do some research. He has won 2 races this year ( an off yr for Gordon) some racers have yet to win even one... let's see the Biff... Sadler... Newman...just to name a few of the bigger stars of the sport, and also the 24 team has'nt used rainbows for approx 5 yrs. Does'nt any on listen to DW on Fox when he says turn up the heat on those flames (though it has been awhile since this is'nt a banner yr) But it amazes me that a bad yr for Jeff is would be considered a good yr for most other drivers. And also don't forget, he's only one race away from tying Dale Sr's. record for races won, and he's not even been in it half as long as Big E was. When Big E would bump someone out of the way it was racing he was the "intimidator" but if the 24 does it , it's desperation. When it happens, no matter who does it or who it's done to it makes the sport more exciting ( even if Gordon is the one dumped)

He's still young and has a lot of years left in him to drive the dupont 24 car.
I have been reading, and replying to TONS of questions about jeff and the negative things people say about him...someone said here that people need to do research on jeff and I agree. Jeff has 75 career wins, and has won 2 races this year so far in a 2 week stretch.....yeah he could have won more I think but he's trying. I think that his crew chief this year is better then loomis because of the simple fact that Jeff did not make the chase this year and really sucked..but this year he has done BETTER with steve and has a chance to make the chase this year.
Yeah I do think that there needs to be some changes in the way that steve handles things and need to have some people replaced but I don't think that steve is one of them. I think that they just need to work on the engine better and build a better car.
Maybe with the changes of the cars with the wings on the back of the cars and some of the other changes in the aerodynamics might help with his ability to do better...as well as the other drivers

Not so fast, people. Jeff Gordon should not be written off, yet. He's stuck with a greenhorn crew chief who keeps SCREWING UP bigtime.
And what's so wrong with Jeff having a new girlfriend? Maybe some of the idiots who keep saying he's gay will shut the h*ll up!
People said the same about Dale Jr. last season. Now that he's back with Tony Eury Jr., he will be in the Chase.
The real loser on the Hendrick Motorsports roster is driving the #5 Kellogg's Monte Carlo...Kyle Busch!

No. It's Steve Letart. Either that or the absence of Robbie Loomis. I don't really like Gordon but I don't think he's washed up. He's still got a lot left. Hendrick needs to overhaul the 24 team, I don't think it's the driver.

No I don't think so at all. He has been married before ya know. He just fell in love again, lucky him huh?! You're not washed up or desperate when you're only one victory behind the Intimidator. It's one thing to not like the guy but you can't go around making insane accusations based on nothing but pure feelings!

Isn't Jeff still running up front and contending for wins? I find that to be a pretty ridiculous statement for a driver that still races competitively. I guess you are just jealous.

I like to think that his whole life is a desperate cover up of his homosexual tendencies.
