I agree!! There should be more penalties than just small fines. One, they should not be allowed to ever own another pet.
Two, they should serve jail time.
Three, they should have to volunteer and watch animals at shelters (under supervision of course).
Four, whatever else we can think of.

It should be the jail time for committing murder to a human.
People can be selfish, deceiving, and cruel. Animals do have feelings. I've learned that by my cat and just being around animals. They have emotions, feelings, and they remember you and what you did to them. You aren't a new person whenever you come back to them. I agree with you and am glad that you're pursuing a career in being an animal cop. Too many people live their lives with no purpose in mind. I can tell you have a purpose in life and a strong held belief that you can't stray away from.
I wish people would be more humane and I also wish that we could have peace for all the nations in the world.
Have a nice day. We can stop the abuse together as citizens and eventually, a nation of people trying to achieve something great - to stop the abuse. God bless you.
FYI: In the Bible, it says (paraphrasing and making it simple) "Humans mean more to God than animals." Animals need a great deal more rights than we give to them, but we still need meat.

People that abuse anything have to be mentally unbalanced. I will stay with the subject.
Animal abusers should be treated the exact same way as if they had abused a person. I personally don't think we are tough enough on humans abusing humans. In my wildest imagination I cannot even think of an animal being abused.
I need to tell a story. Tonight my grandson and were in the car coming to my house. We witnessed an idiot coming toward us from the opposite direction. He/she actually sped up to hit a rabbit crossing the street. My grandson (he's six years old) could not say anything. When he could break the silence of his shock, he looked at me and said, "ama, what just happened?" And he started to cry. I talked to him about it and attempted some kind of anything that he could grasp as to why anyone would do that. This human freak actually had to swerve to hit the rabbit. The last thing my grandson saw of the rabbit was it was trying to climb out of the street up on the curb. I thought about going back, but if there was a lot of blood and mess, I didn't think he should see that. We talked about the rabbit going to heaven.
My son-in-law came to pick him up from his golf league. His dad came in all excited and announced to us," hey! I shot a birdie! I even won money for it!" My grandson turned red and then he turned white and with a tone of voice I have never heard from him say," You better hope you didn't say what I thought you said. Please don't tell me you shot a birdie. NO, NO!!!!"
Hows that for a story? And a true one. That poor kid is going to remember this for a long time. It broke my heart.
TO: "JESSI YARI": When animals are raised to eat such as pigs, cows and chickens, it is totally not even a form of abuse. They are not pets. They are not socialized. They are brought into the world to serve as food. You can't compare that to people that actually abuse pets or even what happened to us tonight.
People tie dogs in their yards and throw food at them. Why do these people even have animals? When you kick them, hit them and Lord knows what else. WHY get an animal?
I will do everything I can the rest of my life to turn in everyone that I even THINK hurt an animal............I have always felt that way.

Everyone has their special cause. I am sure that you will do well to be an Animal Cop. Go FOR IT.
A friend of mine was an abuse counselor before retiring. While her job was child abuse related, she was just as concerned about the welfare and treatment of animals. Now she is an an author. You can see her book Annie Love about her dog, which she rescued from an Animal Shelter.

yes they do have to pay for the crime. have you ever watched animal cops. they are all over and u should bring awareness to ppl to report abuse when they see it so the cruelty agents can come in and remove the animals or in another case if the animal is dead they WILL arrest the person and can get any arrangement from jail time, not allowed to own pets again, and high fines leading up to a 1000 dollars an animal. i agree. i love animals and no one should get away with it. let others no not to be afraid to tell or call 911 its easy. and have them pass it on.

a lot of people that are being abused are in a situation where they are not able to speak else they are afraid they will get more abuse...
I think animals shouldn't be abused and I support your ideas about people being punished for animal cruelty but how can you really spot animal cruelty when people have their animals locked in a cage at home? They are not likely to report themselves.
I hope that if you do manage to become some sort of animal helper, you do a good job and justice for animals though.

Nope I agree, Animals have feelings too, wheather or not we choose to realise this. However take into concideration there are animals that hurt people. A 4yo girl was mauled in Australia by a hunter dog and its going to be distroyed as the girl died This happened only yesterday. I am sorry but I think this is fair

I completely agree with you!
Many use the excuse they do not hav the money to take them to the vet! THAT'S NO EXCUSE!!!
If you don't have the money don't get the pet!!!
ITS WRONG!!
You are hurting the poor thing just to satisfy your selfishness!!
If I ever see a person beat a dog, I'll shot 'em!!
I'm not aviolent person but I will not sit by & watch something be mistreated!!
Those who do nothing (such as reporting them) are just as cruel as those doing the mistreating!!!
They should be punished too!!

I agree and good luck with your career..It isnt quite to get a case on people as you think. We had a Pitt bull in our Shelter that killed another dog..and chased a person..When it went to court the lady who owned the dog startind crying..The judge gave her the dog back after she bought a flimsy pen..I worked with this dog dailey..Its going to hurt someone..just a matter of time...We have had dogs with their ears cut slap off(pitts for fighting home done with scissors) Our Animal control officers know where they come from but if no one claims them you can do nothing..They have brought us dogs so abused and neglected that all we could do was Euthanize and Thank God that one wasnt suffering any more! To me anyone who abuses animals is a coward..They will hurt children, women, The elderly,,,Anything weaker than themselves..I Love to see them in jail where Big Bubba makes them his Wife! I have senmuch...It burns you out and makes you dislike people at times...I'm even changing jobs to a low kill shelter because I'm tired of killing 70 animals a week that people throw away,Beat, Breed to death,Starve, neglect, Burn, keep tied on a Chain 5 years with no socialization...Dump in the road...It goes on as you all know!

I truly believe that those who abuse animals should be treated in the same fashion as those who abuse humans.
While I'm not up for animal voting, or their legal right to drink and/or drive, I do think that they have every right to humane treatment. Those who harm them intentionally should be treated as true criminals of the highest level and action should be taken accordingly.
Love as always,
Sebastian
