If you want to find 10% of 100 you multiple 100 by .1 to get an answer of 10.

Just take the number you want to find the percent of and multiply by the corresponding decimal of the percent.

Or even easier, use a calculator! If your total is 5.58 and you want to add 6% tax....punch in 5.58 then plus then 6 then percent then total.

Hope this helps!

It all depends on what you started with and the situation itself.

For example, if you started with the fraction 1/2, you'd simply divide 1 by 2, giving you 0.5, and then multiply by 100, which would give you 50%.

If you started with a decimal like 1.45, you'd multiply by 100 to get 145%.
