upon their arrival in England?
I am an American. I hold an American passport. I shouldn't have to fill out anything.
Anyone who holds an American passport - Indian, Chinese, French, Spanish - should be an exception to this rule. Just stamp our passports and let us leave.
Why do we have to fill out your useless card?

Are you going to ask the same stupid question every week?

Because you don't have to get a visa.

British citizens arriving in America actually have to undergo A LOT more hassle.

So shut your face otherwise next time we might put you back on the next plane. The UK government has started doing that now you know.

Oh and French and Spanish are an exception to the rule because they are within the EU. So it's just you we don't like.

Honestly, and Americans post questions on here asking why people view them as arrogant. Next you'll be asking "why can't I carry a gun in the UK? I'm an American, bow down before me". When you are in other countries you have to respect their laws.

UK Airport does not care if you are an American. A Landing Card is a card that allows non-EU citizens to stay in the United Kingdom. The citizens must fill them in before arrival, and they are supplied by the airline flown. You are a non-EU (European Union) individual entering their country-that is their law-you must follow it irregardless from what country you came from or what race so that's why you have to fill out a Landing Card.

Why should Americans be an exception?

It is a lot easier for an American to come to UK than vice versa.

Similarly, why are British citizens visiting the USA asked such blindingly stupid questions and treated so appallingly by officials?

You speak OUR language, you should be happy to have us. If it wasnt for us you wouldnt even be there.
