It has been very hot in Oklahoma lately. Would that cause me to shed tons of hair?

Maybe heat, but I doubt it. More than likely, the sun is zapping you of some needed nutrients. Either that or your body is low on them anyway. I "shed" when I am pregnant and nursing, a time when my body is low on iron. I would start a multi-vitamin if you haven't already and drink lots of water so it can get through your system easier. If it continues, or even if you want a more medical answer, call your doctor. They can run a full blood test that will tell you if you are anemic, have an illness or even mono (which I have heard people "shed" during) Best to get professional advise. Good luck.

You may want to go to the doctor and have some bloodwork done. It could be that your just low in something and need to take a supplement. I started to shed my hair quite a bit. Turns out I had high testosterone levels. It could also be stress.

Improper nutrition due to an eating disorder can cause pronounced hair loss in women. You should probably talk to a doctor.

if you are under a large amount of stress this can occur. It's not very common to lose hair due to heat but it can happen, try to ask a doctors opinion.

there is such a thing as seasonal shedding in humans... also if you have longer hair it's more noticeable than in short hair
