It will probably leave this evening! Come dusk they wake up so as to hunt insects. Congrats if you've got one hanging around close by,,,,insect killin' fools they are.
If it's back in the morning then I guess it likes your patio.
I wouldn't worry about rabies though. Even though bats do carry the desease, it's rare that they bite a human being, unless you get up there and start trying to catch it.
And if it hangs around long enough, you might consider putting down paper underneath it's nesting, so as to keep it from making a mess.

The main bat behaviour that they will found the most comfortable places as their colonies. They will give birth, adding the relatives there. If it is still its first day, leave it be,may be it is still adjusting.Bat will leave its droppings a lot,you will find it on the wall and on the floor if it thinks it is the most suitable place. If you find those droppings it means you have to do something.Trap it,how? You can get rid of it by the easier mean, just hang several used Compact Discs (CDs) around that corners.CD will reflects lights that will distract and disturb the bat. They won't stand it,they will leave to another place.Ordinary bat eats fruits, avoid having fruit plants in the pots meanwhile.Good luck!

I imagine it will leave tonight to feed, but the real question is why did it choose your patio? I assumed bats nested in the same spot each night, but then I am not a bat-ologist.

Yes it should leave on its own. They usually live in nests of a lot of them so it shouldn't stay long.

I WOULD BE A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT RABIES. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW. YOU COULD TRY CHASING IT AWAY BUT IF IT COMES BACK I WOULD CONSIDER CALLING A PRO TO REMOVE IT. IT WILL MOST LIKELY TAKE OFF ON ITS OWN. OTHERWISE CALL SOMEONE.
