I am a thin person, and as thin people tend to feel the baby move earlier I could feel my baby move when I was about 15 weeks. I never actually experienced the 'fluttering' stage, mainly just tiny little kicks - similar to if I was to poke my tounge against the inside of my cheek. My hubby was able to feel these on the outside when I was about 17 weeks along. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant, and my hubby is able to feel my baby girl even rolling around in my belly! In my experience, it doesn't take long for the kicks to be felt on the outside.

If you have started to feel kicks already, my advice to you is to place your hand on your stomach whenever you feel one. Sooner or later, you will be able to feel a little 'ripple' in your belly when it happens. Then, you should call your hubby into the room quick smart! I have always found that if you don't put much pressure on your stomach when you are trying to feel the baby, that the kicking spurt tends to last longer. I have also found that it is easier to feel kicks from the outside if I am lying down.

As every woman is different though, it may be a while until your husband can feel it. Rest assured, it is the greatest feeling in the world, and it will help your husband to bond with the baby, and recognise the baby more as a 'real' thing.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! I hope things go smoothly for you!

I'm going to include the link to a pregnancy forum that I think you might be interested in joining. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. I learnt so much there that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise.

I was able to feel the baby move around 5 months. It was about 6-7 months before my husband could feel him from the outside.

My husband felt the baby at 21 weeks. My best friend is pregnant and her hubby just felt the baby for the first time, and she's 23 weeks. After you eat, lay down and have your hubby keep his hand low on your belly and if he's patient he'll feel it.

I was about 5-6 months before my husband could feel our baby moving around. It also helps if you are a smaller build. It wont be long, you'll be begging that baby to stop kicking you! Good luck.
