Two months ago my doctor prescribed me a very high dose for one week. I have not had a period since. I have taken a few pregnancy tests and all were negative (and have no symptoms of being pregnant). I could not get an appointment with my doctor until next week and he has not returned my call yet to answer the question.

If anyone can help explaine this I would appreciate it.

big time. steroids can mess up just about every body process, especially your periods. dont be alarmed. when you get off the steroids, your body will take a while to readjust but your period will come back.

Yes, corticosteroid medications are known to cause menstrual irregularity. Sex hormoes are steroids, as is prednisone.

Ok, so, I just got done with a 10 day prescription of prednisone... I had my period like a week before and now I'm on it again...so I think it can also make you start early?

yes, corticosteroids (such as prednisone) can cause the period to stop...you can also check with the doctor to be sure that this is a normal side effect with the type of steroid you were given.

This article mentions causes of amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual cycle) and mentions corticosteroids..

Yes, steroids are a hormone and can, indeed, affect your cycle.
