Just checked the news today, the war, and we can call it war now I guess, is getting insane.

So I can assume a draft is imminent. So, assuming you're eligible to serve in the military, what do you plan on doing?

I think it'd be cool to be a waterboy or a cook...

I would be an AirForce Pilot because our planes never get shot down. Plus it's cool flying a plane.

Sooooo, where have you been the past few years while the rest of the US has already been at war? Yes we are, trust me, I know.

I guess, maybe, you must be in Lebanon since that is the only place that a "war" has recently started.

Obviously you aren't an Israeli since, from what I have been told, they already have some sort of mandatory military service.

The continuous conflict in that other part of the middle east isn't going to affect the US enough to be a driving force to re-institute the draft again. It has, however, already been proposed in congress well before Hezbollah started this latest conflict...by a democrat, Charlie Rangel.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

genuinecustomhomes, is that response directed at me? In case it was I would just like to say a few things.
I do have a job. See my Nickname? Yes, that is where I am... and I get paid pretty well for it too. No, I'm not in the military... been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
Did I say I didn't like the question? No, I just recognized it as having come from someone that is obviously uninformed and I was just enlightening him along with answering the question. He obviously wanted the question answered, otherwise, why ask the question? You know what they say, be careful what you ask, you might not want to here the answer!
By the way, nice score you have, did you have to work at that? Oh and last, but not least, the day you started... appropriate.

You can assume anything you'd like. At this point, I don't see the draft as a political reality. Its unfortunate because I grew up with the draft and served my 4 years. Many of the later generations could have used a couple of years in the military to straighten them out.

Time in the military didn't seem to straighten George W. Bush out, did it?

Granted, he was AWOL for a lot of the time, but still, you wouldn't have thought he'd go on to be a coke-snorting drunk.
