One quarter of a million acres to corporations is what the newspaper articles are saying. Anyone else heard about this?!

It's already a done deal. He sold rights to cut quite a bit of land in Missouri. Southeast Missouri is good timber country.
The acreage you note is probably pretty accurate. The National Forest Service owns/maintains a lot of forest land that isn't part of any National Park.
While I don't favor the additional sale of this timber, the National Forest Service engages in this sort of activity on a more or less routine basis. And generally, these areas are replanted and maintained after the cutting.

I can't remember the acres but yes the USFS is selling off some land. But it is not necessarily going to corporations and it is a very miniscule amount considering the USFS owns over 200 million acres.

Yup he is. He's already changed the preservation status of land in Alaska and approved oil exploration in those areas.
All of this is going on as the media concentrates on trivial nonsense and gives the country 'Hate Mexicans' days as a distraction from Bush's negative self serving policies.
By the time our citizens realize what Bush stands for and what he's actually doing it will be much too late!

bush is a dumb president. so he probaly is. u heard that he also tried to sell the sea ports to the people that didnt like us so i dont think that bush ha the best thinking things. but tha is just from a youths idea.
