There is something called structural integrity. Vehicles (and I am including bicycles, cars, boeing jets, and space shuttles all in one category) are designed for a certain range of velocities. As you are pushing the limits and trying to go beyong the limits, the structural integrity of the vehicle starts failing.
It just like trying to push a bicycle to go at 70MPH. What do you think will happen to the bike? It will probably fall apart long before you can even get it to 70MPH. The principle is the same. One can even argue that you are not shaking because the tires are misaligned but rather the tires are misaligned because of the failing structural integrity. The age of the car and its use is also a factor. My car, when it was about 3-4 years old, couldn't feel a thing when I went over 100MPH (yes, I tried it) but now several more years later, if I barely go over 60MPH, its rattling like a teapot.

Mine does this too. At 70 it shakes and at 75 it stops and runs fine. I just try not to drive anywhere from 70-75 MPH.

One or all the wheels are out of balance. Alignment will not cause shaking, only balance.
Good luck

Alignment, or a bad tire. The tread could be bad on the fronts, a rotation could help.

mine old car did that. an alignment helps. mine had a slightly bent rim on one of the front wheels and that was making the shaking worse.

along with what you have been told there may also be exhaust build up. and it mayt be countless other things. old cars just arent meant to run that fast although a good highway run is good for them

Tire rotation might help. My car did the same thing...rotated the tires, it's fine now.
