I'm Australian, and I find America to be absolutely fascinating. I live in one of the most peaceful countries in the world, and I can't believe that American's find their own country to be so amazing (please know that this is not meant to be offensive to any American's, each to their own). I think that the United States government needs to do a huge reconsideration of the way their country works. Such as gun laws. I can't believe that a law that was passed from back in the day when it took forever to load a gun is still in use! In Australia, you are only permitted to own a gun if you have reason for it, such as being a policeman or a farmer. And if there is a gun murder in Australia, it's all over the news, and is a huge tragedy. And I don't think that the American government really supports it's own. In Australia, if you find a homeless person on the street, it's because they're exercising their right to be homeless. Welfare is simpy too easy to get. We have free health care in Australia. I do recognise the fact that the entire world looks to America to help when a crisis arises. However, I don't think that America would be as much of a superpower if it spent money on it's own people. Well, there's my 2 cents, thanks for the vent!

Except for an obvious, heavy diet of liberal blather you've been consuming(You want to wear a birka and be beaten for harboring any opinions, lady?) I agree that your analysis of our sad Congress is correct in every way. They are nothing more than highlysuccessful thieves who govern through guile and the support of special interests who own them lock stock and crock. When did America cease to have anyone who represents the people in power? As for Las Vegas banning the feeding of the homeless, it sounds like they're, like many other cities, trying to encourage the homeless to "move on", a strategy that only relocates the problem, but saves valuable city revenues for other items. Severely un-Christian, IMO. Anyway, except for the need to fight worldwide Islamo-fascism, I feel your pain. I just wonder why we don't obliterate these evil-doers ina ruthless manner like we used to. Every war has to be fought in such a pc-environment, I hate that. Good luck with your cause, in all other respects. Sincerely, UC Steve.

It wouldn't solve everything, of course, but it might make a difference if the U.S. introduced compulsory voting into its electoral process. As it is, less than half those eligible to vote do so. The freedom not to vote is the freedom to have no say in how your country behaves.
Citizens who do not vote have no right to complain about their government. Also, they should hang their heads in shame when they pass a WW2 cemetary or see a movie like Saving Private Ryan. Those men and women died so you would continue to have the right to vote. Every time you don't vote you are spitting on their graves. (Not to mention the graves of those who founded the United States of America.)

So these picketer is standing outside the White House with his sign and this Red Chinese soldier walks by and asks him what is he doing. The protestor says, "I am exercising my right to freedom of speech. I am saying 'Down with Bush. Congress sucks. Down with the USA.'" The Chinese soldier asks him, "But why?" The picketer states boldly "because I can! Can you." The Chinese soldier says "Of course I can. i can stand right in the midle of Tien a men Square and yell ' Down with Bush,Congress sucks. Down with the USA. ' and they will probably give me a medal for doing so.
Point being, be careful about standing up in the boat you are fishing in, you haven't a clue what is in the water.

sh*t happens...yeah right I'm already pissed off...but i did ever expected less from those who are in the congress just because it pays well...and those few honest lads are very easily discouraged...the problem is not that there are not enough laws in the constitution...the problem is that the laws aren't respected...law shouldn't be blind....
