Tucker Carlson is the only notable celebrity today that I see can get away with wearing one. Is the bow tie dead because of Pee-Wee's wee-wee incident?

Have you forgotten Paul Simon (the senator not the singer). I don't think Pee Wee was so famous for his bow tie that he can have much of an effect on their popularity. Or anything else for that matter.

Bow ties weren't popular before Pee Wee Herman, and they won't be popular ever again. They are ridiculous fashion accessories that never should have been worn. They strangle a man in a dog collar of hideousness. Bow ties are like powdered wigs or those oil filter collars that Shakespeare wore. The world is going the way of business casual now. Considering global warming, it won't be long before we're all back to loincloths.

No some people don't even know who he is ! the reason is - is because ties silk from over seas are most sought after and better looking. bow ties look like a 2 yr old should wear them they are for those who cant tie a dang tie.... bow ties look queer (meaning odd in this term.) except in high black tie affair on tuxes not lil plaid bows

nope! My band director and my male choir director both wear bow ties, and it looks fine! I don't see anything wrong with them. maybe it just depends on the guy

NO I see them all the time, You just have yet to RUN into enough men wearing them. But they are in, I have seen some men @ church wear them, In the Muslim religion they wear them all the time.
