Try not to be so focused on yourself or worry about being popular. That can be very stressful trying to live up to the goal of being popular.

Don't just jump into the most popular group but spend a little time observing who you might want to be friends with. Choose a few close friends that you can trust.

Many successful adults were the ones quietly working hard making good grades in school and just being themselves. They were not always the most popular either.

My crystal ball is broken, sorry! :)

Seriously, being popular might sound like the best thing that can happen to you now, but in a few years, NO BODY will remember if you were popular or not. Most people at your school will secretly dislike you for being popular...

I would suggest that instead of worrying about being popular, you focus on being a super good friend, an awesome student, and have fun! Who your friends are doesn't matter as long as they are good ones. (Most of the popular people I know were jerky, rude, self-absorbed, and unkind.)

Just try to be a nice person, and please don't worry too much about being popular. The people who will be remembered are the people who were everybody's friend. Really.

it depends what sort of popular. There's popular, meaning, knowing a lot of people, and there's popular, like being the "popular people." (it's weird, though; not so many people like the popular people.) I'm going into eighth grade (which is middle school in my county), and in my school, popular means, "preppy." (northern Va-lotsof mansions and estate homes). Lots of abercrombie (no fitch, really-what's the difference?). Lots of thin people. And jeans. And you need people to envy you, that way, they'll want you to be their friend. have a lot of clothes that nobody else has, but still look cool. Go to neiman marcus and saks fifth and stuff like that, but still look in the small stores, because there's some stuff that is really good (a girl in my school has a replica of the don't cha wish your girlfriend sweater.) You have to care what you look like, too, like don't just throw something on.
It also depends on now. Like, if you were the brainy geek in elementary, people will remember that and you won't be able to change much because they won't let you. It's best to start new like that in a new town, because people don't remember you as much.
You might want to start wearing makeup. lots of girls do, even if they don't need it.
Middle school is really bad, though. people are so shallow and weird. There's the sixth grade, who are all short and still a little bit little kids. then there's the seventh grade, which is all about how you look and act and seem to other people, and then there's eight grade. i think eight grade is easier, people are more accepting, because thye know if they don't like you they don't have to go to the samehigh school as you. But I don't really know about 8th grade, I haven't done it yet.

Good luck in middle school. You will absolutely hate it by November.

Good chance you will be popular with some, but if you are a good person everyone will not like you. Always remember that no matter what, where, when, how, or who God is with you all the way.

Just be confident, know who you are, and be proud of who you are. Thinking back, the kids who were the most popular in school were always those who had self-confidence. Those were the ones that others followed. Be a leader, not a follower! =)

Well, as long as you're pretty, nice, have lots of popular friends, and get a really hot boyfriend, sure. Most people aren't though, so be prepared to be average.

Poularity comes to those who are confident (meaning they don't need to ask that question on yahoo) and friendly. It helps to have a cool sense of style. Join clubs and sports teams to get to know everyone at school. And msot of all, don't get caught up in boys, they are all really dumb in middle school and even worse in high school.

Is it going to be important in a year or two, if your popular? No, it won't be! Your question is so incredibly shallow!

You shouldnt worry about being popular... woory about having true friends.... about having FUN.... thats whats school is all about... HAVING FUN... its the only time in your life when you will have the opportunity to do what you like... when you grow older and have to work... you wont have as much time to have fun----
