Several things to try.

First, go to the state websites of every state you've lived in, and search for unclaimed property. http://www.Unclaimed.org is a great place to find these. Eventually you'll find the right page for that state and you can search by your name and family name.

Then also try Delaware and Connecticut. Delaware because most major corporations are chartered there, and Connecticut because it's the insurance capital of the nation.

While you're at these sites, also look under other relatives names. I found $150 for my brother one time.
