Guerin is definitely on the decline these past couple of years so it's not surprising. He is extremely overpaid for the amount of points he produces.

His best season was 69 pts 2 seasons ago and last year he scored 13 goals, at 5M$+ per season; that's expensive for each goal he scores.

As for Arnott, he's a good centre who had his best year last season with 76 pts. Cheaper than Guerin and more consistency when it comes to productivity. He is a good 2nd or 3rd line centre, not fast enough for a 1st line. He will be good for Nashville providing some robustness to their lineup and some added scoring.

Watch out for Nashville next season, if Vokoun comes back healthy they will be a force to be reckoned with....

I think it's great, I saw Ashton Kutcher release some guerin and I mus say he is nothing special, i haven't seen any starts release arnott, but it sounds like it would be fun to watch come out of angelina jolie

It wasn't so much releasing as, I understand it, them becoming unrestricted free agents. And I'm a lot less worried about the loss of them than the addition of Eric(a) Lindros. He's a waste of money and ice time. Bringing someone up from their farm system would have been a better move than importing a seven-time concussed over-the-hill former all-star.

I don't understand what's happening in Dallas. What ever it is, it started when they got rid of Hitchcock. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's here in Philly. He's a really smart coach. I think the ownership is having brain cramps. Things must be desperate if any team thinks they need Lindros.

well good for them. they are as old as detroit was last season and needed to get rid of these underproductive guys. however they won't be any better with the addition of eric lindros. he did not help a old leaf team. what can he do for dallas?
