Eh, hun, let me tell you about my experience with swimmer's ear. About 7 years ago, I had what I thought to be a regualr ear infection. I went to the dr. and come to find it out, I had swimmer's ear. I took some ear drops and it kept gettin' worse. I then, went back and he put me on some pills. That didn't work. They then, put me on some kind of eye drop medication that you put in your eye and that seemed to clear it right up. If I were you, go back to the dr. and tell him that you've heard about a medication that you can use as an eye drop for it and you'd like to try it. I know swimmer's ear is painful. I'm deaf in my right ear and I could still feel it in that ear, too. So, you know it's bad when that happens. lol Anyways, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT blow smoke in your ear, as someone has mentioned above. That could be VERY, VERY dangerous.
I hope I've helped. Good luck hun. :)

Old folks remedy works great! Have someone blow pipe tobacco in your ear with a straw then keep it sealed in with a cotton ball. Also warm sweet oil is really good. Just a few drops. and same thing keep a cotton ball in it lay down with your head on a pillow so that it cant drain out. Allow it time to work.

If it hurts for more than two days you may be allergic to the drops or somthing. Go back to the doctor and find out.

If it keeps on hurting call the doctors office and ask to speak to the nurse and she can ask the doctor if you need another prescription or if you need to come back to the office! they may tell you to keep on using the drops a few days.

how long have you been using the drops?? I'd say that if you're not noticing an improvement in your symptoms after 48 hours, call the office and tell them - they might want to switch to another ear drop, or discontinue it and try something else.

YES GIVE IT A LITTLE MORE TIME TO WORK, BUT IF IT DOESN'T GET BETTER IN 1-2 DAYS THEN GO BACK TO THE DOCTORS.
