Hezbollah attacked Israel because Iran told them to. They don't do anything without word from Iran.
The experts (not the nutheads on blogs) believe Iran directed this attack to distract the world leaders at the G8 summit meeting. It worked. Instead of discussing Iran's nuclear armament, as planned, all the G8 talked about was Hezbollah's attack on Israel.

I don't think so. If you follow the events, the palestinians are having a hard time also. It's my belief that Hezbolla seized the two soldiers trying to attain some of their comrades imprisoned in Israel in a prisoners exchange, because probably that's how the palestinian-israelis standoff would have ended in. Somebody miscalculate the israeli respond, and we're are looking at the onslaught right now.

That's a very good question and something I wondered about. I don't think so, however, because Hezbollah has it's own issues with Israel. Whatever the cause, I really think they underestimated just how badly Israel wanted to hit them.

It's likely that Hezbollah thought they could gain a propaganda victory over Israel because they thought that Israel was occupied with the Paloswines. Wrong again.

Farley, Israel attacked lebanon not the other way round.
Apparently Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother.The gaza situation from then on esclated.
Hezbollah in turn abducted two Israeli soldiers on the border not long after this.Their reason apparently is that they desire the release of lebanese prisoners in Israel.

No, Hizbollah was ordered by Iran to kidnap 2 soldiers in order to distract the G8 Summit because Iran's nuclear program was Topic # 1.
Iran knows they can exploit the West by exposing countries like France and Russia who are anti-Semitic (and afraid of their Muslim immigrants).

the leader of hezbollah is a smart man i respect him for that. it's possible it does seem like it and it worked i haven't heard anything about gaza.

good comments by my friends but i think it is not like that USA is failed in UN aginest iran because off china or rushia so it might be possible that they finally plane to attack iran,sham and libnan they are just waiting that one of these conutries interfair in it because in one interview the USA officell sayes their is a chance that USA put their ARMFORICES in libnan or sham
