The bond between two neutral postassium atoms would be a metallic bond.

If Potassium were to bond to form K2 - which it typically wouldnt, it would form a nonpolar covalent bond, because of the like electronegativity of both atoms. Only time a polar covalent bond would form is when electronegativities differ.
