ellie,
No, and Yes! You and I both know that we can imagine ourselves doing things, that are beyond the laws of nature, or our personal environment. But that is the magic of it all. The world will tell you to stop dreaming, and get down to business, and forget about your dreams. Of course, we must all do what is required to provide for our needs, and to avoid being burdens to others. Aside from that, I say dream all you want. Our imagination is the ship that takes us to realms beyond reality, where we find the treasures of creativity. What a dull and backwards world we would live in, if it were not for the dreamers among us. And remember, some of the most incredible and impossible things that people have accomplished, started out as dreams, that nobody else believed in.

hmm... kind of a trick question. there're obviously going to be things that u CANNOT accomplish no matter how hard u try (ie, i can never fly *just* like superman does, by sheer will). however, what if u had a dream that you were superman? it's not *real life*, but ur imagination allowed you the freedom and feeling of actually being superman for a night!! so it comes to, what are your goals, what are your restraints, and what is your mind willing to compromise or take instead of what u 'thought' u were looking for?

for example, if u were trying to convince your parents u were responsible, and u try and try and try to be responsible but they don't see it and are stubborn/mean... the outcome that they don't see it may not be the point: if you understand and *know* u are responsible, the constraints are not there anymore, cuz u eventually wont need their validation anymore! so altho the result still is ur parents don't see it... u've allowed YOURSELF to see it, and perhaps proven it to other people, that u are indeed responsible. and i think , eventually, if u are diligent, *strong willed*, open minded, kind hearted, u can fulfill/quench that need of wanting to succeed at doing something even though the outcome is not exactly what you *thought* it would/should be.

No, you can't.

For example, I can't write in Sumerian, no matter how hard I try, because it's a dead language for which the meaning of many words has been lost.

You can do more than you think you can do. By taking great effort you can reach great heights. There will still be many things you cannot do. But by trying hard we can accomplish much of our dreams.

Not really. We cannot all be fighter pilots or engeneers or surgeons. We have to work within our limitations - though we may seek to push the boundaries.

God helps those who help themselves....
On the other hand, man proposes and God disposes..

What I mean is that we work to accomplish our goals. If it's God plan then He will make our efforts succeed. But then if it really is not for us, then we should be ready to accept that it cannot be.
