I had a light period last month, I'm guessing because of the BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) I had. I still haven't stopped itching, but it's let up a bit. It's not an STD, just to let you know. Now that I'm on period, it's really heavy and I can't wear tampons 'cause I'm itchin' up there and pads are makin' the irritation on the outside worse. What am I goin' to use? I've tried almost every brand of pad out there!!! I've also tried puttin' toilet paper there and also powder and that's not even workin'. I'm also havin' really bad cramps. The pain shoots to my legs and back, too. What am I goin' to use and do? I don't think a dr. will look at you on your period. Even if they do, it's sick and I'm sure it will hurt 'cause it hurt a couple days after I was off my period when I got diagnosed with BV.

It sounds like you might have more that just one problem going on. It is possible (I'm not a doctor, yet) :) that the itching and the pain is being caused by the Vaginosis infection. I'm hoping that your symptoms were diagnosed by a real, live doctor, and your post kind of says that you were.

I know it sounds gross, but I would HIGHLY suggest that you schedule an appointment with your doctor, preferably your gynocologist. She/he _can_ see you even if you're on your period, even if she doesn't examine you. When you're done bleeding (or maybe even before) she/he can run some tests to figure out if there is something else causing your pain and discomfort.

I know it's "gross" to you to see your doctor while you're on your period, but Hun, your doctor has seen WAY more icky things then a menstural flow. Seriously.

It is for your own good and health that you see your doctor, as soon as you can. Your symptoms could be something more serious than a bacterial infection. Please go see your doc.

If you are itching like you say you are, then you still have a bacterial infection. Call your doctor and ask him to call in a prescription. Have someone go get it and take it immediately...Anything you use is going to hurt, burn and itch. Try using a loose fitting garment with a pad that only touches when you sit on it...Also, from a person who has had numerous yeast infections, change your diet. Try avoiding any added chemicals and definitely do not eat yeast. If you work with yeast, make sure to wash your hands with antibacterial soap as soon as you are finished...It goes without saying, that you should talk to your doctor before trying anything...also do NOT use a tampon. The treatment for a yeast infection is one pill that can make a great difference in just one day. It also comes in a generic form now and costs around ten dollars.

Well if your doctor has already diagnosed you with BV before your period, then he knows exactly what you should do for that treatment during your period without going to see him. You could even call the office and ask to speak to the Head Nurse. I have never experienced what you are going through, but the best advice you can get will be from your doctor's office. That is what they went to school for 7 plus years for. Also a doctor will see you on your period, there are some procedures that must be performed during you period. I hope that I helped you in your time of need.

First of all, if you are having unusual pain or any problems during your period...a doctor WILL LOOK AT YOU. yeah, it's kind of gross...but that's why they are doctors! So they can look and deal with gross things and help people who are in pain. Being in pain for that long is not normal...even if you are having a common bacteria infection. All girls get that...but I have never heard of one lasting that long. I would go ahead and schedule an appointment with your OBGYN. Meanwhile to help with the pain and itching...pop a midol (for the cramp-like pain) and run to the drugstore for some Vagisil anti-itch wipes. They REALLY help!
If you can't go out right now...try siting in a warm bath for about 15 to 20 minutes. Don't put any bubbles or bath salts in the water. Just the warm water should help you with your cramped muscles and relieve some of the itching as well.

get it checked. Sounds like you might have symptoms of toxic shock syndrome.

Women wearing a tampon at the onset of symptoms should remove it immediately. The severity of this disease results in hospitalisation for treatment. Antibiotic treatment consists of penicillin and clindamycin.
One of the symptoms of toxic shock syndrome is extreme infection of the skin and deeper parts is called fasciitis necroticans (a.k.a. necrotizing fasciitis). It should be attacked surgically without delay.
With proper treatment, patients usually recover in two to three weeks. The condition, however, can be fatal within hours. Some patients are admitted to the intensive care unit for supportive care in case of multiple organ failure.

even if it sounds sick you should see a doctor. you might have some sort of inflamation of your uturus. the sooner you get checked the better.

also, try to find some sort of cotton material. if not. use osme old rags or something. throw them away if you dont have access to your own washing machine.s the 100% cotton will not be as irritating although it wont be as absorbing.

ewwweee...itchy crotch is sooooo uncomfortable. i will agree with all the others on this one, your dr should give you advice on meds (in fact they should've given you some kind of cream to start with)

as to the pad Q, try to find one that has no perfumes or deoderants, when i had this, i even had to use depends for seniors because all the pads have deoderant in them. it helped. so did soaking in a tub with baking soda at night.

good luck!

Call an make an appt. with the OBGYN. Ask to talk with the nurse and tell her you are on your period.
You can also have the doctor on call for your OBGYN office paged, and they will tell you what you can do or if you should wait until tomorrow to see them in person.
