They say that the proper weight is 100 pounds for the first five feet and five pounds per inch thereafter. Of course, this might be different for a lot of guys, say if they are really muscular (after all, muscle does weigh 7 times more than fat).

well right now on the BMI chart (body mass index) his number is 33 which means, brother's weight is unhealthy. For his height 5'11" he should weigh anywhere between 136-172 lbs. this would put him back on the healthy scale with a normal BMI, which is 24 and under. Basically what that means is that if you have a BMI greater then 24 it puts you at increased risk for high blood pressure, sleep apnea, diabetes and other diseases.

try south beach diet. I went from 240 to 170 and have kept the weight off for a year.
it is tough at first but you stick with it and you can lose a good amount of weight pretty quickly, i did it in about 5 months

I don't think he should be more than 200 lbs. Maybe he should do cardio and strength training workouts to reduce the fat, as well as cut back on some calories each day. More power to him! =)
