I know it's only late July, but The Tigers are playing with alot of heart and soul right now.

We finally took 2 of 3 from the white sox in this last series against them, and have proven we can beat them.

Is this the beginning of a new Dynasty?

Georgie- I am so excited about beating the White Sox 2 out of 3 man!!! Now we have to keep it up, we need to take 2 of 3 against Oakland or sweep them. They are tough as well...
Anyhow- The Tiger's are going to win the division. They will not let up because the Veterans that we have won't let that happen and our manager Jim Leyland won't let that happen. Detroit is for real this year and we're going to the world series!!!! Any doubters can sit back and watch.....
As far as a dynasty is concerned, I'll take the Tigers just maing the playoffs as a huge step and if we do win the world series which is definitely possible then I'll be ecstatic about that as well. If we win a 2 or 3 in a row, then I'll start to think dynasty......not yet.....
and by the way Georgie, I live in NYC now(As of a month ago) and it makes me sick to see all the Yankee hats here. they don't even acknowledge the mets. Anyhow, I was at the ESPNZONE bar in Times Square watching the game and proudly had my Tigers jersey on. I screamed and went nuts when Monroe hit that grand slam and the whole place just watched me!! Hahah!! It was great. There were a few CHISOX fans there, a bunch of mets fans, a million Yankees fans and then me, the sole TIgers fan representing. Atleast that I could see, there may have been others.......GO DETROIT!!!

Yes the will win the division no they will not win or make the world series. A 5 and a half game lead in the division is a big lead in late july plus you guys still get to play the royals more wich are like gimme wins. However if they play the A.L East winner in the first round they will loose and if they play the west winner they will win the first round and loose to the winner of the white sox vs. al east winner. They just are not as good as the red sox yanks or white sox yet. On the other hand if they hold on to all these rookies and young studds they have they will be in world series contention in a year or two

I correctly predicted that Detroit would take 2 of 3 against the struggling Chi Sox. Chicago is slumping after getting battered by the Yanks and Tigers now. If Detroit can up their lead to say 9 games they may be able to breath easily in August and September. One has to wonder if Sox management is starting to get nervous and will pull off a trade by July 31st.

As for a Detroit dynasty, they first need to get to the World Series this year. One step at a time.

Of course they can but the White Sox won't make it easy for them. After all the Sox are the defending champs and have the experience of a true pennant race. The tigers haven't been there yet so the pressure might make a difference. The Tigers have a decent lineup and as long as their pitching holds up that have a good chance to win the division.

The Detroit Tigers could win the A.L Central and I wouldn't worry so much about the A.L. West, But for the A.L.C.S., The Boston Red Sox and the N.Y. Yankees are a definite threat.

It's going to be a slam bang-drag out affair for the American League Championship Series. Should be very exciting and interesting.

I always thought the Minnesota Twins would offer up more game and be more of a threat to win the A.L. Central.

The Detroit Tigers playing hard and aggressive baseball would have made the 'Georgia Peach'. Tyrus Raymond (Ty) Cobb proud when he played baseball one hundred years ago out in center field for Detroit.

We'll be ready for you guys in New York,... in the house that Ruth built.

I believe they can, and I believe this a new dynasty. They have excellent pitching, a lineup that can only be outdone by maybe 4 teams. Not to mention Jim Leyland being the great manager that he is. He obviously spurs the Tigers to win like they have. They have great clutch hitting, clutch pitching, a great closer, and two pitchers who can throw 100 miles per hour. I say the Tigers are a shoe in to win not only the AL Central, but the World Series as well.

Honestly, I don't trust the Tigers. They've had a good run as of late, but I don't think their younger players can handle the pressure of a down-to-the-wire race. I'll give them the Wild Card for sure, but the White Sox probably will end up winning the division. But don't get me wrong, I like the Tigers.

Can they?? They most definitely will!! And, as a Red Sox fan, I do not look forward to having to face them in the playoffs. That will be a great series, and I will root for the Red Sox all the way. I know you are a long-time devoted fan of the Tigers, and I wish you the best of luck!!

Cheers!!

not in any respect, yet crediting Twins for what I stated weeks in the past, of what they could do. Minny hung round all season exhibiting their 500 kind ball, and in that susceptible branch this year with the overvalued Sox and Tigers, all Twins had to do ws secure their winning way, keep heads on tight and do as they been doing. i think Twins have extra proper pitching and offense as an finished then Tigers. satirically Morneau is going out with an harm and they made their ambitious bypass, putting Mauer in peoples minds, even extra so now, as MVP. I knew this series changed into necessary and Twins may take it. This time of season even as divisional play is severe for contednign communities, Minnesota is doing what they favor to, taking cost, even as over rated Detroit pulls a Brewer/Mets choke on the top.

First question yes, they can win the Central division, after that we will have to see how it goes, but they should at least get the wild card no matter what. On the second question, no, because of free agency I do not think a dynasty is possible in baseball anymore.
