Wait it out... your dad's over-protectiveness is his way of showing his love for you. Be respectful & loving back to him. That's all any parent really wants... their child's love, respect & well-being.
After you've grown up & moved out you can spend as much time with whoever you want.
In the meantime, your best friend should understand. I'm sure she wouldn't expect you to choose between her & your dad!
I was seperated from my best friend for 5 years when I moved to the east coast. I've since moved back to California, and its like we didn't miss a day. We are still best friends & back to hanging out as often as we can.

Your father is being too protective it's true, but he is still your father and you owe him respect because he's your parent and has taken care of you all these years.
Wait until you turn 18, move out, then you can see anyone you want to.

Hmm, seems like your dad is seeing something you're not seeing. Parents are alaways very perceptive of things we might not be aware of, so just talk to him, and listen to his explanation.

I can't see any parent banning their child from their best friend unless something happened. I'm sure he has good reason.

Wait. If it's worth it, then she'll be there in a year. Do what your parents say. You'll be amazed at how right they are when you get older.

While you're in his house, you have to follow his rules. If you move out and go to college, you can be as crazy as you want. Maybe he wants you to go to school and thinks you won't if you get wrapped up in her.
