I am going absolutely nuts in week 13 of being a stay at home mom (without a kid yet. She was supposed to be here on Tuesday, but is being stubborn). Anyhow, I am home by myself all day, I get NO joy out of housework whatsoever, and am going CRAZY. (My mom and everyone else says I will want to be a SAHM when the baby gets here, but I am not seeing it lasting past a month or 2, once the novelty wears off and I get into another rut.) How do you SAHMs do it every day?????????

btw, I mean no offense at all to sahms, so please no one take it that way! Right now, it is just something I do not enjoy personally, right up there with filling out tax info. :) I love my family LOTS, but I just don't enjoy housework.

First, your hormones are screwed all the way to heck and gone... so what you're "feeling" can't be trusted.
Second, few women with ambition beyond 4 walls would ever be a stay at home mom. Enjoy your desire for more.

I've been a SAHM for a few years...since my son was a toddler (my husband and I were both working, and hubby's sister watched our son).

Things will get more interesting once your daughter is born, trust me. You won't have TIME to be bored!

I would much rather be home with my son even though he can be a handful. At least, as a housewife, you can just take baby and go for a drive, go to the park, go to the lakeshore (I'm in Ohio)....at work you're stuck in one place for at least 8 hours a day, which I hate, hate, HATE!!! LOL

One word...HOBBIES. Personally I paint, play violin, sew (I just started sewing last Christmas...teaching myself), surf the web, play computer games, clean the house, read, watch tv, and most important of all...I talk to people...wheter online or on the phone...I talk to at least one person other than the people living in my house at least once a day.
