I totally know I ovulated yesterday by using a kit. How many days before ovulating is it possible to have sex and get pregnant.

It all depends on what your cycles are like and the kit can't tell you that. Your cycle has to be tracked daily so you can see the patterns over a period of months. If you already know that you have very regular cycles then chances are you probably ovulate somewhere between Days 12 and 16, but those are only averages. And it's more about being in a "fertile time" then about "ovulating" since a woman can get pregnant both before and after ovulation occurs. Since sperm can survive in your body days after intercourse, you could possibly have sex 7 days before you ovulate and get pregnant. But that's not usually the case.
A woman's fertility is so much more complex than just "14 days after your period or 14 days before the next." Up to seven days before ovulation. This is the length of time sperm are said to be able to survive. However, it is believed that the time in which they would be able to fertilize the egg is quite a bit less, probably 3 days, 5 at the most.

my ovulation kit should that I was ovulating yet I got preg. the week BEFORE my pariod! I am now 7 1/2 weeks GOOD luck!

no more than 2 days before, but you can get pregnant right now!!! get some tonight and your chances will be very good...
