As a die hard penguins fan that drives from Toronto to Pittsburgh every year for a game I really prey they dont go anywhere. I've been a fan since about 1980 before Lemieux. The Pens have a killer young team that reminds me alot of the Senators. I really think the penguins will get a new arena. I keep hearing about a slots liscence they are trying to get passed. However if that does fail there are a group of investors through the city, mayor etc. There have been numerous rallies in the past to save the Pens!
As far as players this year it's a toss up. The new GM Shero hasn't done any major deals but I wouldnt be suprised to see either Domi or Anson Carter in a penguins uniform for opening night. With all their young talent and the chance the Russian phenom Malkin will come over to play this year, I don't know if we need to do much to the team. Fleury will be a fulltime goalie this year, and Armstrong will play alongside Crosby again this year. I keep thinking Jason Arnott could be a penguin. Just a feeling I have...

SLY_CA_98 is right and who would want to buy a team that has gone bankrupted 2 time in the past 10 years. the top 3 city's they will move too after the least is up is....
1) Kansas City
2) Winnipeg
3) Quebec City
they should move it back to Canada because they love the game we've been trying to sell the game in the USA for years and its just not working the only way it will work is when the Americans get there way and we change most of the rules. you could buy tickets on game day in Carolina in the playoffs, not in Canada TB wins the Stanley Cup and you can ask questions about the Lightning and most residents of TB don't know what you're talking about. the salary cap is low we can bring a Canadian team back. hockey is Canada its a way of life, if you don't like it its because you're scared of getting hurt and don't understand this beautiful game.

This upcoming season is the last year on their lease at Mellon arena. They are trying to get this lottery thing set up for a new arena, I don't see it happening.
Unless they have a deal set up for a new arena I don't see them staying in Pittsburgh. It's unfortunate but, I believe it's their last year in Pittsburgh.
Too many investors are interested in buying them and moving out of Pittsburgh which would make sense. Out of 5 groups 3 are looking to move them.

Unless state government gets involved, we'll see the Penguins moving to Winnipeg or Hartford. A stronger offensive team now, they still need defense and goaltending!
