No common sense I haven't been in a tornado, but i think they look pretty and fun! The UK is extremely boring in terms of natural disasters, its one of the safest places in the world in terms of climate.

roujinz3 - we do have eartquakes actually, and we do have tornadoes, hell even in 1991 (or roundabouts) we had the remanants of a hurricane, winds well over 100mph, but maybe you aren't old enough to remember.

The bottom line:
The UK has more tornadoes per SQUARE AREA than any nation in the world including the US.
BUT the US has more tornadoes than any other country by far.The United States does have areas where tornadoes are very rare(west of the Rockies, Alaska, Hawaii, New England), but does have areas where the tornadoes per sq area exceed the UK- Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska.
Most of the tornadoes Brtiain gets, though are what we call in the US, F0 tornadoes- not really capable of doing much damage and often not detectible with the naked eye(but are by radar).

OK, you are partly right PER UNIT AREA we have more tornadoes than anyone in the world. I didn't believe this but the guy on Discovery channel stood up and said it.
WE most certainly do have tornadoes in the UK one in Birmingham a couple of years ago caused major damage. We have 33 reported Tornadoes a year.
Oh and there is the proof on the Torro page too.
Does anyone do ANY research on this site?

UK doesnt HAVE tornadoes. We occasionally in a blue moon get little twisters that rip up some houses and maybe even some nasty ones that scrape a few hundred meters of wrekage.
They were taking the piss. We dont have earthquakes, tornadoes, tidalwaves, hurricanes, serious drought or pluages of locusts etc. or serious weather of any kind. Even our thunder and lightning rarely touches the ground, and our heavyist storms PALE compared to most other countries.

We don't have tornadoes in the U.K. but we do have strong winds which cause damage, as for natural disasters we've got Tony Blair and thats enough for anyone to put up with

but TORNADO
PLANE YES
WEATHER NO

Not true. The USA is the champ here. (Regrettably.) Warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico is responsible.
