Go to the Ford dealer for diagnosis. Then they can tell you what it needs. The Check engine light only comes when there is a problem in the engine management system. It doesn't come on as a service reminder or for any other reason than to indicate a problem. Go see the dealer and pay them the $50.00 - $100.00 to have it diagnosed.

You need the 90,000 mile service and the repairman can reset the indicator. Call any mechanic that works on Mazda's and make an appointment to have everything done for that mileage. I used to have a Honda Civic and at that mileage, we had to have the timing belt, all pumps, hoses, tires rotated, oil changed and tune-up done at that time.

Take it a mechanic and get it fixed or to the auto parts store and get the parts. There is no other good way to make the light go out without failing an emissions test or butchering the car. You'll waste gas if you don't get this fixed.

It may be just an indicator for a major service, like a friendly reminder.

You might also check how secure your gas cap is, and if your using poor quality gas, that will also cause the light to come on.

Good luck!
