Why doesn't ANYONE like preps?

because we're hot, popular, stylish, athletic. everything geeks in high school want. most people think we're mean but most of us aren't. give us a chance people!

Because preps talk too much and have a reputation of being shallow and mean. Because they are elitist and because they will not accept you for stupid reasons such as the way you dress. Preps talk about people behind their backs and if anyone is different they are excluded. This is a generalization I know. Not all preps are like that. Not all other people are like that either. The words "we're like everyone else" basically qualifies you as not really a prep since they tend to think that they are better. Generally speaking most of this is true. Sure there are preps who are very nice people, and sure there are people of other groups who are equally mean, generally speaking though. this is your answer

I am not a prep, and I have nothing against them. As long as you don't try to rub it into people's faces, or act like you are better than others. My experiences with preps is alot of them are snotty and/or really flakey. They do both of these on purpose. If you just dress like that, but not act like a complete ***, I'm sure people will have nothing against you. If they do, at least you can take comfort in the fact that not all people will assume you are evil because you are a prep. I am one of those people.

i like preps cause a lot of my friends are preps, im not prep most of the time, im normal i go either way. Theres nothing wrong with them they just spend too much time worrying about their makeup when their at school, but prep guys are cute!!!

That is so not true! I like preps, then again i seem to hang out with more than one group of people.... Well I'm sure that your just a bit paranoid or you hang out with not so friendly people. Asides from that preps have an image/rep. of being stuck up, rude, rich, snobby, etc. to outcasts (goths, punks, nerds) you get my point don't you? Just try socializing with different people and try new things. There are a few good preps out there.

P.S. if sumone calls you gay try to ignore them or just give the one finger salute.

Because preps think they are better then other people, when really deep down they are just
as weak as everybody or anybody else. They really won't except you just because of the way you look, talk or dress. I like one prep, and that's because she doesn't judge people. Plus, they are always so peppy and "happy", so when you are angry or upset or something, and you need some freakin' alone time or just to see other people miserable, there they are jumping around in their little slutty mini skirts with their fake boobs bouncing up and down, as they are giggling about something her friends were gossiping about earlier. They just suck. Their really is no real explanation for why people hate/dislike preps, because their are so many reasons, we can't even think of them all. Like, I don't know. They just...suck.

Im sorry... but no I don't like preps because the ones that I kn ow are mean, nasty and probably really slutty. I am my own person and I am constantly put down by that by preps.

most preppy people I know are girls, so any guys can be seen as gay (with the pink and everything...you know.)
Anyways, i don't dislike preps simply for being preps. Some of them are nice people, and some aren't, just like geeks or emos or gangsta or any other subgroup. I just think most people dislike for thier money. Prep is like the prep-school thing, which is privvate schoo, which is associated with money. The preppy clothes are generally expensive (which, let's face it, are all that really sets you guys apart from everyone else.) And people see the preppy people as being the country-clubbish, lazy, "I-have-money-and-I-always-will" sort.
the second question is stupid. If you didn't like other preps, you wouldn't like yourself, and I have never met a prep with low self-esteem.
I know one preppy guy who is like your typical prep (the rest-the other typical preppy people- just don't talk to me) and I just laugh it off. he'll be like, "eww, you got that jacket on sale...that's grody." And I'll laugh at him and be like, "wtf is grody?" So I don't really mind it, except for the over-fashioning thing.
You said that you're like everyone else. Some preps don't act like they're like everyone else. they act like they're better, and people believe them, so the preps just keep on believing it.

In my day (back in the mid 80's) the preps were the rich snotty kids. If they're still the snotty one's these days, then maybe that's why nobody likes them.
