Halo 2 is Xbox
Counterstrike is Xbox and PC
Xbox doesn't nearly have the graphics or performance a PC can have.
Halo 2 is a very nice game. I didn't like the single player a whole lot. I found it was very boring personally. Though, I do have the say that Xbox Live made that game one of those most addicting games of all time. The Pick up group team work was never really up to par til you hit later rankings, but the game was very fun.
Counterstrikes flaw was when you die, you wait. When you first start playing, you die alot, and then you have no chance to improve. Especially as the years pass when people got too obsessed with CS and started urinating in jars instead of leaving the comp. They have deathmatch rooms on Counterstrike which makes respawn instant. A VERY good place to start out in CS to practice on your reflexes, get down levels, and get your aim up to par.
Eventually you can start pissing people off on normal servers by taking them out. Vary up your weapons, don't use a sniper rifle all the time.
Both games can equally be played for hours, and enjoyed in there own ways. It basically comes down to personal preference.
Matches in CS don't last long unless someone is camping. Halo2 matches can last a nice little while because of the rules.
Halo 2's precision is a little off because your using a controller. With a good mouse, you can own like crazy in Counterstrike.
I've evenly played both games to their extent online, I'd have to say I can't really choose because each of them has their strengths and weaknesses.
Is it just me, or in every match on Halo 2, there is a guy who sounds like, he's 7 years old?

you cant beat a classic like counterstrike. though halos multiplayer is good in its own right counterstrikes multiplayer is timeless.
