I really think that lunarpages.com is awesome. They have a variety of plans and the quality of service is excellent. Once your service is in full operation, you'll probably want to have your own server. They can do that too.

Look at what the successful businesses in this field do and use it. Modify what needs modification, to the better. No guarantee for success, but it helps.
In other words, look at the web hosting the biggies are using and find a web hosting that provides those services and more.

I like Http://www.awardspace.com You can use their sub domain or use a domain and they have a good free service. You also have Frontpage server Extensions so Microsoft Frontpage can connect to your site and upload pages.
