To get a full understanding, we have to go back a long time ago when the Israelis were expelled from 109 locations and the British mandate and Balfour declaration gave Israel a part of the Palestine land that was occupied by the British forces then.
http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/expelled.htm

The Israeli Zionists had their own agenda to attain their "promised land" - the land between the Al Forat & the Nile Rivers - and Israel began to invade parts of Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and more parts of Palestine.

In 1967 the UN passed resolution 242 calling for Israel to withdraw form the occupied Arab territories they have invaded & occupied during these wars.

During this time, Israel has been conducting ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians and is continuing to do so to this day as it is now doing to Lebanon as well. Have you heard of the Israeli Sabra & Shatila massacre in Lebanon or the Deir Yassin massacre in Palestine? Please read on:

The whole issue of the current abuse over Lebanon is not the issue Israeli soldiers. Israel provoked Hezbollah by crossing the Lebanese borders to aggravate matters and have Hezbollah retaliate. Lebanon is only a stepping-stone to reach Syria and Iran after Iraq has been totally destroyed and occupied by the US. (Israel was behind the Afghanistan / Iraqi wars).

For Israel to be able to fulfill its agenda, then it has to ensure that there are no powerful Arab / Muslim armies in the region except the Israeli army, which is backed up & fully equipped with US military weapons. Israel also has its own nuclear power station and nuclear warheads.

I have many sources to support all that I have said if you care to check them out yourself.

Israel throughout history has been conducting covert operations against the US (in particular) to set up the Arabs and begin wars with their neighboring Arab countries to achieve their cause / agenda.

From history, Israel did conduct attacks on the US harming and murdering US citizens trying to set up Arab countries in the process so that the US may start wars with these countries – Check the sources below: USS Liberty and the Lavon affair and others:

AMRZAHIR: It's good to here rational thought rather than false accusations and abuse. I would also like to add that 500,000 Lebanese civilians have been displaced from their homes, too!

Technically, Israel is not attacking the country of Lebanon but a terrorist group, Hezbollah, which is based in Lebanon. Hezbollah crossed the border and kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Israel fired on Hezbollah and Hezbollah fired back and the war was on. I think the main reasons the US supports Israel are because some of our most powerful citizens are Jewish and because Israel has a strong democracy.

Israel is attacking the Syrian funded terrorist organization, Hezbollah, inside Lebanon. Hezbollah resides mainly in that country and does acts which would be interpreted as "acts of war" by many countries against Israel. Hezbollah sent a party into Israel and kidnapped two Israeli soldiers, bringing them back into Lebanon. Because the Lebanese government wasn't cracking down hard enough on this terrorist organization Israel attacked the country as a whole to A) show that if you harbor terrorists you will be attacked like terrorists and B) it is the only efficent way to stop their movement and ability to fight back. The U.S. supports Israel and contends that Hezbollah is really a puppet of Syria. The U.S. is a long standing ally with Israel.

Terrorists in southern Lebanon have been bothering Israel for a long time. The Lebanese government can't do much about it, because Syria holds most of the power over thier country. Recently, a Lebanese group took two Israeli hostages. Israel is fed up and decided to attack Lebanon.

The US will always defend Israel. Israel is home to God's chosen people and is holy land. Because of the strong Christian political base in the US, we will always defend Israel. From what I know about history, this is primarily so that when Jesus comes back...he'll have mercy on the US for defending the Chosen and the Holy Land.

Because the Hezbollah military branch that is in Lebanon , with support of Syria and Iran, began an bombardment of Israel. So Israel is reacting with defending themselves.

Israel is attacking Lebanon because it is the start of WWIII...didn't you know that WWIII was supposed to be a religious war? I think that the US is supporting Lebanon.

Hmm... contemporary historic past ring any bells? as a results of fact did not they do exactly that some years in the past? besides, i'm in elementary terms slightly cynical whilst the only source quoted source for the type and numbers of those 'long variety' missiles (on the grounds that's not long variety, it particularly is medium) is an IDF Brigadier wide-unfold. it fairly is in his activity to construct up the probability. That way whilst Hezbollah lob missiles into Israel (which they positively will) he's already everyday the mandate for rolling all the way as much as Beirut. And curiously they might might desire to invade by UN gadgets; i ask your self how that should pass down with Israel's everyday allies?

Because Israel is sick and tired of getting rockets fired upon them. Hezbollah hit Israel's third largest city, Haifa. Imagine if Canada went rouge and sent missle's into the US's third largest city, Chicago...what do you think would happen? You can bet your bottom dollar that they will ANNIHALTE the enemy. That's what Israel is trying to do now. Get rid of the enemy

Because Israel will always defend herself against groups such as Hezbollah, and those who want to wipe her off the face of the earth.
