I may be a slightly soppy female, but I've dealt with this sort of situation many times, and to be honest I would put it out of its misery.

If you have extra cash and can find a vet who does exotics then by all means, bring it there, but keep in mind you may end up with a half paralyzed pet chipmunk, chances are it won't be able to go back into the wilds of your backyard.

In this case the chipmunk is concidered a pest to most and most vets will take the animal free of charge if you surrender it to them and the vet will decided what they feel would be the best for the chipmunk. If indeed it is paralyzed euthanasia may be the best and only option. I work for a vet and in this case we would euthanize. Good luck and it may be wise to get your cat looked at as well incase it has been scratched or bitten by the chipmunk

personaly i think that you should take it to the vet and see if it has a chance then if it dont well at least you tried to do something about it

hey hun.....if its paralized like you said then it would be best to put it down....cats have a poison in their claws that helps to paralize and kill their pray....it would be best all around for the little guy to let him go......love daisy
