I was 12...I got my period the night b4 a BIG Gymnastics comp.and I HAD to wear one!! after that I was hooked! lol weird but true

Funny story...before I ever started my period, I swore to my mother that I'd never wear tampons, and she MADE me write and sign a statement to that effect. Lo and behold, when my period started at the age of 13, I think I used pads the first time, and switched to tampons because I hated the feeling of the pads between my legs, getting all soaked with blood. Yuck. I've used tampons ever since I was 13.
And for those mentioning the risks of tampons....toxic shock syndrome is very rare, and if you use the correct absorbency of tampon, and you use the tampons CORRECTLY, you should have no problems at all.

I don't use tampons. My mom doesn't so she couldn't ever teach me or anything. I put it in ONCE but only once. Didn't like it. The risks scared me too. I think I'm going to start using them though because I'm going on a cruise next week which is probably when my period will come. How convenient.

it took me a long time to figure out how to put the damn things in but eventually a year or so after i first started i figured it out...and that was when i was about 13 theres no age limit to start or stop wearing tampons all girls can wear them if they are menstrating
