I am 38 weeks and I am ready to have my baby too. I can't take much more. It feels like I'm holding a watermelon between my legs. My baby weighs 5lbs 15 oz. and the doctor says she don't weigh enough to induce. Have her check the babys weight and growth because she might induce if the baby is a good size. They don't want it too big. Also I was told to go to the mall and walk for hours, which I did and I have been having contractions on and off for 2 weeks. Just wait on the baby. He/She will come when ready. Congrats

36 weeks is safe but don't go out here and do any of those old wives' tale theories. Just wait. I was induced at 40 wks and still had to have my water broken for me so trust me the baby will come when ready

A baby will come when its ready. Mine arrived at 41 weeks!
Dont worry - its well worth the wait.
If i had my baby when i was 36 weeks id be so terrified - but as the labour went on, i got fed up with waiting and was willing him to come out. By the time he did, i was more excited than nervous!

deff. 38 weeks! Talk to your OBGYN though. And for the love of goodness DO NOT try Castor OIL if you can help it (my friends say it is more embarrassing than anything they have ever went through and it didn't even help). Sounds wierd, but my last two pregenancies were helped along greatly by sex sex and more sex and lots of walking (not too much if you are in an area that is in a heat wave right now though)...But sex can work wonders - You might think I am odd but don't use any type of condom or spremicide because the sperm has progestaglandins (sp) that ripen the cervix...

Other than inducing labor at the hospital, the baby will only come when it is ready. Just chill out, and wait it out. God knows what he is doing, leave it to him.

the term period ranges from 37 to 42 weekd so you have a wide range.
I'd leave it on nature to decide till it reaches about 41 weeks if there are no other problems in the meantime

You see, what you're going through little boy, is like jello puddin pops. Actually, it's more like Kodak film. See, when I was a boy, we went down slopes. We listened to jazz, but today, they listen to the rap, and get the brain damage. So they don't know what the jazz is all about, you see?
