Why don't you ask your friend to condem the actions of the islamic terrorists. You might get an interesting answer, but likely not a condemnation.

Well, I'm not for killing anyone. If people just want to kill each other without understanding the "mile in my shoes" then thats a sad (but realistic) commentary on the current level of human beings in this world.
As to the main question- i think the real meaning of being a conservative relates to how to run a business- conservately so you don't grow too fast and go broke. My wish is that it mean to conserve things ie: "conservation" so besides not running the country's business so we are going broke (which we are- the war in Iraq is costing over 4 $BILLION a month, the national debt is at a record high, although this admin started with a surplus, thanks to Bill) but also to conserve the resources of our little planet. I think earth is about to answer back for all abuse it's suffered. My advice, head for high ground.

When conservatives are talking about Muslims they are talking about the extremists Muslims, not the regular Muslims who are peaceful. There is a big difference between the two. Don't get it confused. If people are saying things like what you said above (which I have not seen) then they are poorly misinformed people without an education. I would really like to know though how your Muslim friend feels about these extremists. The reason I'd like to know is because I have yet to see one Muslim speak out against these extremists. I didn't see one Muslim after the 9/11 attacks speak out against it...did you? Just wondering.

As a conservative myself, I vehemently reject the premise that all Muslims are evil. Islamic terrorists represent a small fraction of the the followers of their faith, but they get all the attention because they're the ones killing people. I say we take out the fanatical terrorists, and do the best we can to leave the rest alone.

Have you learned what the Muslims are taught from birth. It is simple - "All non Muslims should be eliminated" - that is all non-Muslims should be wiped out. It is their religion - the lady who you know may be nice - but she most likely has children that she taught this to.
You ask us to stop - will you change your mind if a Muslim killed your parents because it is their religion?
America was built on the belief of God - everything they teach against.
It is kind of like having a pet rattle snake - don't be surprised if you get bitten - that is what they do.

"I have noticed that many questions regarding the Islamo-Nazis are answered by Conservatives with statements like 'Muslims are all evil and we should kill them all'"
Not true at all, the true statement would be, "Terrorists are all evil and we should kill them all" In which case it would be a true and valid statement.

You should also not prejudge your Muslim friends either. I've been surprised to talk to pleasant, well spoken people, who, when asked, said that Israel was a mistake, and the Jewish state needs to be destroyed. I've heard them speak with pride about the 9/11 hijackers, and the 'message' they sent to the US.
That being said, you can't prejudge your Muslim friends to be truly hateful like that, either.
At the end of the day, we need to understand that our life is under attack, and if we don't recognize and fight, we have much to lose.

I do find it ironic that one group of theocratic religious extremists would regard another in that way. But then again many extreme right-wingers would like to kill me simply because I don't agree with them. I don't think the hatefulness you mention is inherent in Conservatism--especially Conservatism before the 90's--but they sure seem to get along like peas in a pod.
I'm thinking of Ann Coulter's famous statement here--"we should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." That statement wasn't limited to rogue nations--that was referring to every Islamic or Arabic country in the world. Until nutbags like Coulter no longer speak for such a large segment of American conservatives you're just going to have to understand that large numbers of them want your pleasant Muslim lady friend suffering or dead because of her cultural background and not because of anything she did. I don't see any signs of that happening soon, though. It's evidently just too much fun to cheer on your favorite extremist crusader, whether it's Michael Savage or Michelle Malkin or whoever else is making the loudest, angriest noise.

Exactly how do we tell terrorists from good people?
According to every source imaginable, the good Muslims out number the terrorists. If that is so, then why aren't we seeing massive uprisings against the terrorists?
Heck even on yahoo, I see more Muslims defending their terrorist buddies than Muslims condemning them.
