Depends on what "taskbar" you're using. For instance, in Firefox, the Google toolbar allows you to right-click and find "Clear Search History" in the context menu. You can also use Tools / Clear Private Data in Firefox.

It may be similar in Internet Explorer, but you have to be more specific about browser and search taskbar before a more accurate answer can be given.

In your web browser go to Tools - Internet Options.. - History - Clear History. This should work if not try Tools - Internet Options.. - Content - AutoComplete - Clear Forms.

Another thing go download CleanUp 4 it deletes all history and temporary internet files, it's free.

How embarassing this could get. Try Privacy Guardian. You can probably find a free version on Google someplace. Gonna delete everything though and then someone is gonna wonder what you are hiding.

in case you're making use of a toolbar then get rid of it. also delete your cookies and only be certain you havent searched it before then. i'd recommend making use of chrome incognito by using urgent ctrl + shift + N even as in chrome. in incognito mode no history is recorded.
