Did Bush go into Iraq ignorant of Middle Eastern politics or knowing full well what would happen ?

Or was he just being a cowboy and assumed we'd go unchecked for our presence in Iraq ? Was it volitional or has he underestimated Iran and North Korea ? Is what's happening there now what his original intent was when he entered Iraq ? Or has this caught him unaware ? Was he ignorant to the Middle East and it's ways ?

I'm asking because I'm interested in real answers. If at all possible spare me the Micheal Moore treason, Bush is always right, Bush is always wrong speeches.
