I just received a benefits packout outline and I don't understand what the premium is. I know a little bit about co-pays and insurance, but I just don't get who pays the premium and where the money comes from. Does it come out of your monthly pay? If so, what is a high/low premium? Any explanation would help! Thanks!

The premium is the amount charged monthly for the insurance. Check with your personnel manager to determine if the premium is split between employer and employee. The employee portion of the premium would come out of your weekly, bi-weekly or monthly pay, depending on your pay period.
