If you are handicapped, to the point where you need your own personal parking spot everywhere you go, should you really be driving? Should america do away with handicap parking?

To use that reasoning then:
Illiterate people shouldn't go to school.
Alcoholic people shouldn't get sober.
Liars shouldn't be truthful.
Racism shouldn't be eliminated.

Capability should determine whether a person should drive.
Handicapped parking is (for some) a courtesy and blessing.
Normally I don't use the handicapped spaces; leaving them for elderly people with disabilities that are more challenged than I. They deserve our respect and courtesy, in my opinion.
Therefore; no, I do not believe the spaces should be eliminated.
We should strive to become more tolerant of this condition called being human, and improve on it; even if it causes some inconvenience and irritation.
I know I have a bias where handicapped issues are concerned, being challenged myself. I do strive, though, to be a better human being.
Great Question, by the way......
Ooouu, are you in hot water!

As a handicapped person, the issue of parking for me is not my inability to drive. It is the fact that I have a limited amount of oxygen ability or I pass out - so would you rather I park close and be able to accomplish my own personal responsibilities as opposed to having to burden someone else, or rely upon a government agency to take care of me which would cost tax payers lots more money, or walk a several extra parking spaces, pass out somewhere between parking spot and somewhere within return and take a chance that someone's life be ruined as they hit me as I faint and then be charged with negligent driving or attempted murder, or something else ridiculous, and before you say get oxygen - well, I've tried, but the FDA and AMA says that you have to have an O2 level below 87 to 92 on a consistent basis - well, that's fine and well, but for whatever reason my O2 level doesn't ever drop below 96 and yet it registers in my brain as not enough - so I can't get the oxygen I crave. So, given the options that I face, I much prefer the parking place and independence to care for myself for as long as I can. I'm sorry it inconveniences others who should be grateful they have the ability to walk, run, jump and enjoy breathing without having to think about exactly how many steps they can take before they have to sit down for a period of time or they will not be able to stay upright.

No if you haven't noticed some of those vehicles need room for the ramp to open and lower. How could they do that when the parking spots now are barely big enough to fit your truck in? Would you make your mom walk all the way across the parking lot if she walked with a cane? If you would shame on you.

in case you detect the universal stalls too small per chance you should objective to get in a unmarried with a wheelchair or a walker. I dont understand what community guidelines are on a non handicap human beings utilising centers offered for individuals with disabilities are contained in the bathing room yet does puzzling decency dictate your movements. i'm no longer disabled yet my Aunt is and Ive considered how some human beings completely push aside the prolonged needs of the handicapped. placed your self of their position and picture about someone except yourselves. once in awhile. you should use any stall yet they cant.

I'd like to know how they can spend the next two hours walking around walmart if they can't make it to the front door without a curbside parking spot.

That is a hideous question. Just because somebody is handicapped doesn't mean that their driving would be impaired. Wake up!
