I lived full time in a 30 ft fifth wheel w/slide outs for over two years in Northwest Washington state, just south of the Canadian border.

I don't know how rates compare, and obviously the need there was for heat rather than A/C, however, it should be able to give you a ball park idea of costs.

During the winter, when heating was neccessary almost 24/7, and we used electric space heaters, our electricity costs ran around $50 a month. At least one of us was home most all the time, and there were two TV's, video game consoles, and a computer running usually, plus refrigerator, and electric cooking appliances, and two electric blankets at night.

During the summer, spring and fall, electricity was closer to $15-25, which included a few days of A/C, but not many.

Hope this gives a bit of an idea.
Enjoy!

You are onto the air-conditioning threat to your budget. You can control that biggest of all ticket by parking your rig in the shade of a large tree, or by erecting a roof-tent on it (honest!) to provide shade.

Gosh, so many variables!! Are you on urban (municipal co-op) lines or rural (lower-cost co-op) ones? That would make a 10-15 percent difference right there.

Do you have a full-size refri or a office-size one? Big difference, right there, again.

Watch a lot of TV? Play a lot of stereo? Big-ticket items. --24/7 computer isn't. That's about $7 a year total.

Good insulation to your rig or bare metal backed by plywood?

On and on, more variables.

How many times you go and out, thus losing your cool (temperature-wise)? Do you run the air 24/7 or just when you are home?

All things considered, my guess is about $50 a month, $80 tops. You are blessed with low rates in Texas, you know.

Elsewhere, should you move to NE USA, say, expect up to $130--if you could even use that living setup.

Honest.

Yikes. No clue but probably high. Doesn't it feel like you are living in a tin can?
