Drag Racing is my families life. We all race mustang. The reason not to many people like drag racing, is because they get it confused with street racing. Drag racers do it at the track, where it is safe. Street racers do it whereever they can get a race. Kids today think they can do everything they see in the movies and not get hurt.

Each league of motor sports whether it be "drag racing, nascar, irl, cart, formula one, score, dirt and all the others" have their own fans and detractors so I guess that they will all stay around.Drag racings problem is it's original image "the leather jacketed, dirty fingernails outlaws that used to race on city streets and other non authorized areas.Though the NHRA national hot rod association and the IHRA international hot rod association have made major strides in cleaning up that image with sanctioned street nights at area drag strips that offer a safe legal way for grudge match races to happen. but as long as two morons with more cubic inches than brain cells feel the need to settle things on the street then and a innocent bystander gets hurt or killed the old image will remain.Unlike nascar national association for stock car auto racing which grew out of the south from a bunch of good ole boys that used to hop up their cars to run moonshine with as time went along they found that they could run the same cars on tracks and make as much or more money than they did running moonshine without running afoul of the law and nowadays it's the premier motor sport in the USA.Selling out almost every race every weekend and the lucrative TV coverage for the sponsors it's growth is assured.

Huh? Where did you hear that? Mile High Nationals were sold out, same as everywhere NHRA goes.
Even the local US131 dragstrip north of Kalamazoo has huge crowds for it's regular meets.

bike will win ninety 9% of the time... to cgriffin1972 with the 2006 Suzuki GSX1300R - HOLY F*CKIN' SH1T DUDE - straping NOS to a bike that rattling quickly is like attaching a bayonette to a crusemissile - that is overkill.

The speed is certainly exciting,,,,,,but lets see them go 300+mph and then turn left! Now that would be racing.
